Go for the 12 , it has better design and less bezels than the 11. I have a 12 which is the lightest phone i have used , the 11 is heavier. This just makes it a delight to use. I have the 12 and the battery is completely fine. With the 12 you will get one year more software updates and the nice shape.
The battery has remained at 86% since I bought a wireless charger in April 2020. iPhone XR (bought in March 2020): 100% Battery health. I use it for work (emails, calls, pics etc). I have only charged it using the wireless charger and I leave it charging over nigh. iPhone 11 Pro Max (October 2020): 100% battery health.
iOS 16.1 battery drain FIX. After updating my 5 moth old 13Pro to iOS16.1 i began to experience HORRIBLE SOT. Drainage happened in idle and using only light task apps throughout the day (notes, twitter, reddit) my battery plummets. I was getting 3 to 4h of SOT (i had 8 to 10h SOT in 16.0.3). • A lot of people blamed native and 3rd party apps
The iPhone 11 battery capacity is rated at 3046 mAh, and the iPhone 11 Pro is slightly larger with 3190 mAh. Add OLED screens to that and you’re just objectively wrong
My iPhone 13 Pro bought last year had no issues with battery life a couple of days after upgrading, it's almost just as good as when i got it. It's not a grand mystery that your iPhones battery life gets worse after iOS 16 if it's a 11 Pro or older.
iOS 15 update caused my battery's health to drop from 93% to 90% in a week. Even with most apps uninstalled (Spotify, IG, etc) a fully charged battery at night on Low Power Mode loses 20% by morning on standby. This is the worst update I've ever had land on my iPhone 11 Pro. Never had any issues with any Apple updates until this one.
How about thinking this way, 11 pro max has about 20% higher battery capacity than Xs max (3969mah vs 3180) So now your battery is still basically better than brand new Xs max which had arguably the best battery life in iPhone before 11pro max.
The way phone batteries work is that if you let it drain so low and change it to full, it stresses the battery more. This would reduce the life of the battery quicker than usual. It’s best to keep your battery between 40% and 80%, so when it hits 40 you charge it to 80% and disconnect after.
Took my 13 Mini off charge at 8am, it’s now 11:47pm, I’ve still got 41% battery. 3h:40m screen on time in last 24 hours. The problem with big phones is you just want to keep scrolling, consuming. EDIT - 3 days later: Took my 13 Mini off charge at 7:41am, it’s now 11:17pm, I’ve still got 52% battery. 3h:07m screen on time in last 24 hours.
My iPhone 15 Pro Max’s battery life was atrocious, averaging barely 7 hours from 100% to 0% after 2 weeks of usage. This was even with the 17.0.3 update that was supposed to fix it. But with 17.1 Beta it finally improved significantly.
